How to maintain the inventory
Separate uses when purpose, version, population, data, jurisdiction, or autonomy changes the risk.
Record models, data, vendors, tools, permissions, subprocessors, and downstream effects.
Connect risk classification, approval, validation, monitoring, incidents, and evidence.
Review periodically and after material changes, failures, new uses, or regulatory obligations.
Minimum rule
An inventory entry should identify who owns the outcome, what the AI does in the insurance workflow, who can be affected, what information and systems it can access, what actions it can take, how people intervene, and which evidence supports approval and continued operation.
